Tooter Cannon

Tooter Cannon born Charles Weldon Cannon in tiny Afton Texas in Dickens County in 1915. His father gave him the nickname Tooter when he was a toddler and the name stuck with him all his life. He was a renowned boot and saddle maker. A Tooter Cannon saddle or a pair of his boots is usually passed down within families. It is rare to find anything made by Cannon for sale on the open market. His work is found in a number of private collections. Tooter died in Lubbock, Texas in 1997.
