Nola Ochs became
the oldest person to ever graduate from college
On May 14, 2007 when she received a general
studies degree from Fort Hays State University
in Hays, Kansas. She was 95 at the time and
graduated with her her granddaughter,
Alexandra Ochs, who was 21 years old. This
earned Nola the title of world's oldest college
graduate in the Guinness World Records. In
2010 she received her master's degree, making
her the oldest recipient of a master's degree at
age 98.
Born Nola Hill in 1911, she married Vernon Ochs
and raised four sons on the family farm. She is
a native of Jetmore in Hodgeman County Kansas
which is the 87th least populated county in
America.
