Last Mail Wagon Between Lubbock and Plainview
Mail Hack from Lubbock to Plainview in 1909. The following year it was delivered by automobile. Before the automobile, mail was delivered by horse or mule-led conveyances known as hacks. The “mail hack” might have been an enclosed carriage, a buggy or a vehicle specifically made for the purpose of carrying letters and packages . . . . photo courtesy David Robertson
