Queen candidates for the 1973 Harvest Festival were: Teri Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Reed; Brenda Randolph, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Randolph; Cynthia Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Melvin Stewart; Tracey Blair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blair; Lana Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Williamson. All are seniors at Shallowater High School.

Princess candidates are: Linda Shropshire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shropshire; Camie Stanton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Stanton; Patti Middlebrook daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doyce Middlebrook; Dana Blackburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Blackburn; Robin Akins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Akins. Princess candidates are all first graders in Shallowater.
