Life in Floyd County Texas 1850-1950 Railroad Grading Team in Floyd and Hale Counties 1909 |

| Grading for the railroad extension to connect Plainview, Lockney and Floydada was completed by mule and ox teams on November 4, 1909 in Lockney. The depot and switch yards were also completed. This prepared the road from one end to the other for laying the steel track which could be laid at a rate of 4 miles a day. | |||||
