Horse-drawn ice wagon from the Abilene Ice Company parked on a dirt street in 1910 while driver delivers a block of ice to resident's ice box. Ice deliveries by wagon or truck were still going on until shortly after the end of WWII from the  late 1940s to the early 1950s. Once the war was over, metals that were banned from consumer use during the war were again being used in the making of refrigerators and other household appliances.
