America
Utah County, Utah
Seat: Provo
Utah County is the 83rd fastest growing county in the US based
on rate of growth between January 2000 and July 2006 for all
counties that began the century with more than ten thousand
residents, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
Utah County which was established in 1849, grew in population
to 368,540 by the year 2000. In the six years that marked the
beginning of the 21st Century, the county increased the number
of inhabitants by 26.1 percent bringing the estimated total
population in July 2006 to 464,760.
The outstanding growth of the last six years has made Utah
County the fourth fastest growing county in the Beehive State
of Utah and the 83rd fastest in the nation.
The median value for homes within the 1998 square mile
jurisdiction of Utah County was $156,400 in 2000 but the
Bureau had no statistics on home value for 2006. Determining
how the rapid growth may have affected the value of homes in
the area is difficult but the current auctions that follow
should give some indication of the bargains still available. |
