Kendall County, Texas
Seat: Boerne
Kendall County is the 75th fastest growing county in the US
based on rate of growth between January 2000 and July 2006 for
all counties that began the century with more than ten
thousand residents, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau
estimates.
Kendall County which was founded in 1862, grew in population
to 23,743 by the year 2000. In the six years that marked the
beginning of the 21st Century, the county increased the number
of inhabitants by 27.3 percent bringing the estimated total
population in July 2006 to 30,213.
The outstanding growth of the last six years has made Kendall
County the tenth fastest growing county in the Lone Star State
of Texas and the 75th fastest in the nation.
The median value for homes within the 662 square mile
jurisdiction of Kendall County was $139,900 in 2000 but the
Bureau had no statistics on home value for 2006. Determining
how the rapid growth may have affected the value of homes in
the area is difficult but the current auctions that follow
should give some indication of the bargains still available. |
