Riverside County is the 45th fastest growing county in America
based on percent of growth between January 2000 and July 2006
for all counties that began the period with more than ten thousand inhabitants, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau
estimates.
Riverside County which was founded in 1893, grew in population
to 154,5387 by the year 2000. In the six years that marked the
beginning of the 21st Century, the county increased the number
of residents by 31.2 percent bringing the estimated
total population in July 2006 to 202,6803.
The astounding growth of the last six years has made Riverside
County the second fastest growing county in the Golden State
of California and the 45th fastest in the nation.
It is difficult to determine how the growth may have affected
the value of homes in the area but in 2000 the median cost for
a home within the 7,208 square mile jurisdiction of Riverside
County was $146,500. |
