Foreclosure! Ten Ways to Save Your Home

Get Forbearance or Restructured Terms

Get the terms of any offers in writing. If you're able to negotiate an arrangement with your creditors on the phone, ask them to send you the offer in writing. You may need to write them a letter asking for confirmation. When considering any sort of forbearance or loan restructuring, realistically consider if you will be able to follow through with your end of the agreement. If you still won't be able to afford to make the payments, the agreement won't do you any good.

If you don't feel comfortable negotiating this on your own, consider contacting an attorney or a foreclosure prevention screening company like HomeForeclosureFighter to negotiate for you. The service is free and confidential.
