Knox County, Texas from 1850 to 1950 as pictured in archived government photographs, vintage postcards, old school yearbooks and newspapers. This was life in Texas as our parents, grandparents and ancestors from  Benjamin, Goree, Knox City, Munday, Rhineland, Truscott and Vera saw it.

In 1927 James Thomas Black and his wife Mary Eta New Black posed for this portrait in Truscott Texas.. They came to Texas in the late 1890s from Wayne County, KY. The pioneering couple lived in Truscott and then later in Crowell until their death.
