Landon Johnson
Linebacker Landon Johnson was born in Lubbock Texas March 13, 1981. He graduated from Lubbock's Coronado High School and holds the school record for tackles. Landon has played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions. When Johnson attended Coronado High School he was a three-time All-District pick, a three time All-City pick, a two time All-League pick, and as a senior, he was the District Defensive M.V.P.. An excellent student, he graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. After high school Johnson played collegiately at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference in both 2002 and 2003, and was named Academic All-Big Ten team for all four years. Johnson graduated with a degree in General Health Science. Johnson was drafted in the third round of the 2004 NFL to the Cincinnati Bengals and played with the Bengals until 2007. He became an unrestricted free agent in the 2008 offseason. On March 7, 2008, Johnson signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. He was injured in the 2008-2009 divisional game against Arizona. He signed with the Detroit Lions on March 19, 2010. In 2020 he was teaching high school ninth grade science at Fairfield (Ohio) Freshman School and had been teaching for seven years. |
