CAUTION
Luis E. Morquecho is being sought for escaping from a corrections
facility in Grand Island, Nebraska. Morquecho plead not guilty
to state charges of kidnapping and a jury trial was scheduled
to begin on April 18, 2005. However, just 3 days prior to the
trial, Morquecho escaped from jail. Reportedly, Morquecho, along
with the assistance of another inmate at the jail, overpowered
the correctional officer who was overseeing the recreation yard.
Morquecho climbed to the roof of the jail, then climbed to a
lower portion of the structure where he jumped to the ground
and fled.
On April 15, 2005, Luis E. Morquecho was charged with escape
in the County Court of Hall County, Nebraska. Subsequently, on
April 21, 2005, a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United
States District Court, District of Nebraska, after Morquecho
was charged with unlawful flight to avoid confinement.
